5/21/2015 - George Brown College Partners with Infinite Media to Celebrate Top Talent Under 40 in Canadian Sport and Event Marketing at the Globe and Mail 5 to Watch Awards

Infinite Media, an integrated digital company, is proud to play and integral role as the technology partner on the Organizing Committee for the 4th annual Globe and Mail 5 to Watch Awards. Working closely with the marketing department at George Brown College, Infinite Media developed a sleek website based on the InfiniteKM platform framework and trained two of the college’s co-op students to use the platform for administering the website and maintaining updates.
Brad Sellors, Managing Director of Infinite Media, is one of four founding members of the 5 to Watch Organizing Committee, which spends months each year working to plan and execute this upscale gala event that brings together the next generation of industry leaders in sport and event marketing from across Canada. Each year proceeds from ticket sales help to raise funds for George Brown College student bursaries and awards which are presented to exceptional students from The Centre for Business Sport and Event Marketing Program. This year’s Organizing Committee is chaired by Mike Fenton, Program Advisory Committee Chair – Centre for Business, School of Marketing.

The awards gala that took place May 21 at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus, was hosted by TSN Sportscaster Kate Beirness. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour sponsored by Bacardi followed by opening remarks given by the Selection Committee’s Honorary Chair, TSN Host and Olympic Commentator Brian Williams. An engaging panel discussion featuring, Mark Healy, CMO of Tennis Canada, Kathy Henderson, SVP of Marketing and Revenue for the Pan/Parapan American Games Toronto 2015, Dan MacKenzie, VP and General Manager of NBA Canada and Pat McEleney, VP of Partnerships at Canadian Tire took place just before the awards were presented.

The 5 To Watch awards were launched by George Brown College's Centre for Business, School of Marketing, Program Advisory Committee in partnership with the Globe & Mail to recognize five leaders under the age of 40 in the Canadian Sports Business industry each year and to raise funds for George Brown College student bursaries and awards.
