Pre-Deployment Training:
Before working a full shift, each employee is deployed to the site for hands-on training which comprises of:
- Site familiarisation (location of mechanical rooms, review of elevator procedures, floor layouts, complex perimeter)
- Identification of the location of all life safety equipment (fire panels, first aid supplies)
- Review of all procedures specific to the site.
The staff member will be supplied with the Standing Orders for the site. This document should detail proper procedures to follow for all situations that might arise at the complex. The Standing Orders, the Employee Handbook and the Nexus Standard Operating Procedures form the complete framework within which the employee must function. They describe all responsibilities and duties and document proper procedures to follow for every situation.
